Now called The Museum of the Indigenous People, is the only museum in the greater Prescott area devoted to the culture and art of Native people. This very historic little museum houses many interesting cultural items from the early residents of Arizona. The museum building was completed in 1935.

We had a wonderful time on our tour to experience Prescott. What a wonderful town to visit! The Sharlot Hall Museum had a lot of great exhibits on Arizona’s Territorial History. The Phippen Museum was loaded with great western art, and we learned a lot about the artists from that area. Our lunch at the historic Palace Restaurant on Whiskey Row on the town square was right out of an old set movie. The food there was very good also. We were able to spend some time walking and shopping on the square which is a beautiful treed and grass covered block surrounding the old courthouse that is still a working facility. Before we headed back to Phoenix, we stopped in at the Museum of the Indigenous People which is a very nice Native American Museum that had many very interesting items inside. Our tour guide Todd took great care of us and provided a lot of historic information along the trip. We are looking forward to taking another tour with Historic Arizona Tours next time we have the chance.
