I recently had the pleasure of taking a private food tour with Pavel and it was a great experience. Pavel was a friendly and knowledgeable guide, and he really made the tour enjoyable. While this was one of the most expensive food tours we've done (both private and group) in many different countries, it was still worth it. However, if you're looking to save some money, the group tour might be a better option for you.
We met at a convenient location near our hotel, and the tour started with an open-faced sandwich on a slice of bread. From there, we went to a bakery for some sweet treats like cookies, éclairs, and donuts. These pastries were all very traditional in Prague, and even though I'm not a big fan of sweets, I really enjoyed trying them. We then stopped for a cup of glühwein (mulled wine) at a Christmas market before moving on to more sweet pastries.
After snacking on all of these treats, we took a leisurely walk through a park where we had a great view of Prague Castle. The tour ended at a sit-down pub/restaurant where we shared three dishes and a drink of our choice. We had goulash, some pickled camembert, and pickled sausage, and everything was delicious. We left the tour feeling stuffed and satisfied.
Overall, I would highly recommend this private food tour with Pavel. The food was delicious and the tour was well-organized, making it a great way to experience the local cuisine in Prague.
