If you are a fan of breathtaking viewpoints and very nice Instagram photos, then this activity is for you. Located at only 30 km from Cluj-Napoca, Cheile Turzii (Turda Gorge) is one of the most beautiful gorges from Romania. There are 2 alternatives for this tour: a) the adventurous one, where we climb the via ferrata from the gorge; b) the easy one, where we hike through a lot of scenic viewpoints above the gorge. You can specify which option you prefer when you book a tour. The climbing is very easy (no technical experience required), starting from the river level and making our way up the gorge, passing through a vertical cave called "Grota lui Hili". The via ferrata is one way only, and the climbing down will be made on a hiking trail. Alternatively, if you have fear of heights or you are not a big fan of adrenaline, you can choose the hiking option (b). The views are just as breathtaking. Tudor was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and safe! He even dropped us off at the Salt Mines after. Would definitely recommend the climbing experience!

The Via Ferrata experience in the gorge with Tudor was absolutely amazing. Tudor was fun to be with, gave clear instructions, showed a lot of patience and was a good cheerleader during the difficult parts. The terrain and the views were great! I must say that I found the climb rather challenging in some places, and I was glad that I had indoor climbing experience. That said, I highly recommend this activity.

Tudor is a wonderful guide! He’s very personable and welcoming. The via ferrata had its challenging moments but he was very supportive and offered excellent assistance. I especially loved the Palinka toast when we reached the top. He was very knowledgeable and knows the mountains very well. I would definitely recommend this tour. Great way to see Romania!
