    We will see the exterior of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and hear of the story of two of the most famous Royal residents here - Mary, Queen of Scots and Prince Charles Edward Stewart.

    We'll take you from the gates of the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the drawbridge of Edinburgh Castle. You'll hear about murders, shootings, royal proclamations and civil wars. You'll visit pretty little closes and wynds and learn about some of the most famous figures in Scottish history.

Had a great tour from Rob yesterday. He is a charming host, very attentive and took the time to understand our needs and type of content to focus on. He is a teacher and it’s shows. He has a great way of delivering content in an engaging way. Having a private tour may cost a few more pounds but it it truly much better value as the content is then tailored for you. Even as an Edinburgh for many years I learned loads about the development of the Royal Mile, the canongate and Holyrood. Rob intersperses the tour with regular breaks to tell fascinating stories, aided with great old pictures and well judged props too. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour and might well come back and book another next time I am in Edinburgh. Many thanks Rob, especially putting up with our rude jokes…!

WOW! I couldn't recommend this tour more highly! Robert was fantastic and extremely accommodating, he both figuratively and literally went the extra mile (walked us back up the royal mile at the end of the tour). My Partner and Robert had been corresponding for a while on him working in a surprise proposal by the castle, Robert went so far as to scout locations days before and made the experience very special, playing the photographer and everything. I'll never forget the effort he went to make it a very special moment for my partner and I. The tour was fantastic - we got to see all the highlights and hear intriguing and witty stories with props! He got to know our interests and adjusted the tour accordingly which made it even more worthwhile. Robert is clearly passionate about what he does and is genuinely invested in making this tour a highlight of our trip! He even dresses up, what more could you want!
