This company is NOT CLOSED! The pandemic has made travel harder for all of the travel agencies and this company, as well as many others, have struggled to adapt.
I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Pamela! She has been working with me for close to two years until I could get on a tour. I took the 3 day Cotapaxi/Quilotoa/Banos tour and it was an absolute blast. Nonstop adventure for such a reasonable cost. I had such a great time and Pamela worked so hard to help me arrange this tour. We went bungee jumping, volcano climbing, ziplining, the Swing at the Edge of the World, etc. etc. etc. I have never done so many things in such a short amount of time. Please give this company a chance. I had a similarly great time with Peru Hop four years ago.
It was a great trip with everything as described in the booking. Except for 2 accidents that delayed returning 1 hour it was always on time. Jonas was an excellent driver so I felt safe even when we took a detour. My booking had misprinted the itinerary but it was resolved the first day. Jonathan was very customer service oriented and carried my backpack from the hotel to the meeting point in Banos. Joseph did the same upon return to Quito. There were overbookings for Cotapaxi park tour but this was promptly resolved. Everyone was informative, bilingual, and helpful.
My husband, mom and I visited Cotopaxi, Quilotoa and Baños. Excellent time, beautiful sights and wonderful staff.
Buses- Buses were comfortable, they can recline to about 40 a degrees angle, comfortable enough to sleep. They also have charging stations in front of each seat. The only down side to the bus is that there were no bathrooms as mentioned on their website. Mom had to cut back on her high blood pressure and diabetes medication because they cause her to urinate more frequently but they did stop for bathroom breaks
Bus Drivers- Excellent bus drivers, smooth rides throughout our trip
Tour and Guides- Our tour guides for the entire trip were excellent. We had Ericka and Pauline in Cotopaxi, they did a great job telling us all about this majestic volcano. I also really appreciated how they took care of mom, she couldn't go all the way up the mountain so she decided to wait at the restaurant on the last stop, while we hike. Since my husband, mom and I came in a minivan because we didn't fit in the big bus, Carlos one of driver suggested that the driver of the mini van takes my mom sight-see to a couple of nearby places and then she can return to the lodge. I thought that was very nice of them to offer that option.
The next day we went to Quilotoa and then Baños. Daniel, one of the tour guides was very nice and funny, he referred to all of the passengers as his children, I thought that was endearing. Lesvi and Caroline were our tour guides to Baños and back to Quito. They were both very nice. We appreciate it how they were always offering to take our pictures. They also accompanied my husband to walk the suspended cable bridge in Baños, I'm glad because he probably would not have done it by himself.
Accommodations- Our first night we stayed in Chuquiragua Lodge, this place was very nice, rooms can get a bit cold at times but they do have a heater in every room. All employees were pleasant, Patty and Josue were exceptionally nice to us. Patty make sure all our accommodations were to our liking, Josue who works in the restaurant was very pleasant and attentive, they asked if anyone had any allergies or dietary restrictions. Food was always delicious and on time, great chef. Hot chocolate was delicious too, a had two cups of hot chocolate in one night!
While in Baños we stayed in Hotel la Chimenea, not to be confused with Hostel Chimenea. Breakfast was also included and it was fantastic, bed was very comfortable.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend Ecuador Hop to any of my friends and family. Thank you Ecuador Hop.
