Stand in a torture chambre in the courtyard where numerous executions were held, and see the famous Passeto Secreto - the 'secret passageway' that connects the castle directly with the Vatican which inspired Dan Brown's book Angels and Demons. Finally, enjoy stunning views of the city from the top of the monument where Archangel Michael stands armed with a sword, guarding the city.

Three adults booked a Private Tour of St. Peter's Basilica from the Dome to the Papal Crypts AND a Private Tour of Castel Sant’Angelo: both tours were led by MichelaSophia who is an Italian, a Roman and a Christian so she has great appreciation and affection for the Basilica and for the historical significance of both sites. MichelaSophia met us at the assigned location for our 8am Basilica tour and then afterwards walked with us to the Castel Sant’Angelo. (This was above and beyond what was required as the tours were actually two separate tours.) Michela will lay a foundation of information as the tour begins and then build upon it, layer by layer, reaching back and reminding the listeners of details pointed out beforehand and then suddenly all is clearly seen and understood. We so much appreciated her love for her subject matter, her sensitivity to our needs, and her genial personality. I highly recommend booking these tours with LivItaly Tours and MichelaSophia.
