Dear Guests, this excursion of one day has been designed for all those who wish to visit and discover the vineyards of Rome and its outstanding countryside, and experience interesting and delightful wine tastings in two of the most beautiful local wineries. So, you will be driven around the fascinating countryside of Rome and stop in two of the villages located in the so-called Roman Castles area! But what's the Castelli Romani or Roman Castles area? The area of Castelli Romani indicates the entire geographical area located south-east of the city of Rome, around the Colli Albani, made up of a group of villages and towns, in part of the territory of Latium Vetus, Ancient Lazio region, surrounded by the roman countryside. The tour is conducted by an English-speaking driver, born and residing in the region of Rome and with an in-depth knowledge of history and features of the territory, ready to help you with the local language, advised and informed about local food, shopping and more.

To date, the company is owned by Lorenzo Costantini, a renowned winemaker who is passionate about Lazio wines. Lorenzo believes in Frascati and its enormous potential, he believes that the land of the Castelli Romani, makes the wines produced in this area unique and that the climate favours the perfect ripening of the grapes; the pedoclimatic suitability finds its highest expression in the cultivation of the native variety par excellence: Malvasia Puntinata (or Lazio). The aim is to produce a Frascati with 80% of Malvasia del Lazio to give life to a unique and typical wine of the territory.

The name of the city perhaps derives from a local tradition in the use of branches as timber or from their use to build makeshift shelters after the destruction of Tusculum. The most modern tradition associates the name with the custom that the wine sellers had of hanging a vine branch outside their stores to announce that the wine from the last harvest was ready to be sold.

Our excursion around Castel Gongolfo, lake Albano and Nemi was made more wonderful by the knowledge and company of our guide Angelica! Such a wonderful, casual day! It quickly became more like a walk with a friend! We highly recommend this excursion!
