Great experience! I had wonderful conversations with my guide throughout the tour. The ice cave was amazing! Glad I saved time for this on my trip. Highly recommend!

Once in a lifetime experience. Great views. It is a strenuous, uphill hike to the cave, and once inside, you will climb 700 steep steps in sub zero temperatures. It requires a degree of physical fitness. Please also take warm jackets and wear comfortable shoes. The whole experience is worth the effort.
We did this tour with Salzburg private tours. Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable, well read, respectful and friendly. He took extra efforts to know us and made the whole experience memorable. I would highly recommend Michael and Salzburg private tours for memorable personal tours around Salzburg. You won’t be disappointed.

While the cave is very very impressive, we all felt it had much more to offer, so we came out quite disappointed.
The tour in the cave itself takes about 70 minutes. The level of guidance is very poor, and they have one goal: to have you out of the cave as fast as possible, to enable as many groups as possible, in. The gimmick of using a traditional lighting does not enable you to admire the full magnificence of the cave. You pass through the various attractions quite fast, and instead of sufficient time to stop and admire this nature wonder, you are busy walking and climbing to the next short stop.
I wish the stops at each site would be much longer and the lighting system would be better. The point is not just to go through the cave, but to have enough time to tour, to look and marvel the sights.
