We are very pleased with the complimentary upgrade of cruise tickets which allowed us to avoid the crowd on another level. We get to enjoy almost the whole level of the cruise ourselves. Our guide Caroline is very friendly. She is able to provide us with information accurately about the building and history of the bund. We even asked her for food suggestion for our stay in Shanghai, she even went to search for the address for it. Hotpot is delicious with variety food item to choose from and is super suitable in such a cold weather and after blowing cold air from the cruise. Overall we are very pleased this evening.
This tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide was May and she went above and beyond and exceeded all of our expectations. She spoke very good English and we could easily understood everything she said. We picked the Hot Spring with Hot Pot Dining experience so May picked us up at our place and first, she took us to the hot spring. She handled our tickets and entry so it's definitely convenient for those who does not speak Chinese. They give you a bracelet with your locker number and key attached. The first locker, you put your shoes in. Next, you go inside and pick a robe you would like to wear. Then it is separated into male and female section. Once inside, you strip naked before going into the hot springs. It may feel a little weird in the beginning, but it's not that bad after a couple of minutes, well, for women at least.
That hot spring is suitable for women, men and kids. Inside, they had over 10 variety of hot springs: different temperatures, one that acts as a massager, outdoor ones, etc. We came in the winter time so it was really nice to be in this type of setting. My favorite one was the one outside because you still get that nice cool breeze while you're soaking the hot springs. They also had a salt room, showers, toothbrush for you to clean off after you're done at the springs. Next, you can walk out and there is a back section for kids to watch movies, read manga, variety of sauna rooms, massages, relaxing station, charging station, you name it. While we were doing all this, our tour guide May was patiently waiting for us outside. You can easily stay here for at least 2-4 hours.
Once we were done, May took us to eat hot pot. We told her about the types of food we liked to eat and food allergies my friend had. She was able to communicate all allergies to the server and picked a bunch of delicious food. Everything was very yummy and she was so easy to talk to. I'm really glad we were able to have an extra person to eat with us since it was just me and my friend who had very strict dietary restrictions.
We told her about how we're leaving the next morning to Beijing but were worried about not being able to find a taxi. She used her app to try to reserve a taxi for us, when that didn't work, she asked our driver to pick us up at 6 in the morning and drop us off at the station. Even after our tour, she messaged me to make sure we caught our train and that we were okay. I would high recommend this tour.
I went on the hot pot and hot spring tour after a long, tiring day exploring Shanghai. The meal was at a local place with incredible food. The bath house was very unique and fun to experience. The baths and saunas were a great way to unwind and recharge. Great, friendly guide named Alana who is passionate about her work. Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a relaxing experience that’s more adventurous than your average Western spa.
