This tour was fantastic—perhaps even better than Shakespeare’s birthplace! I would highly recommend paying the few extra pounds to see both locations because this is well worth it! The guides were very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about sharing the history of the building with visitors. The “lecture” with the schoolmaster was top notch: very engaging and informative. Visitors also receive an actual lesson, which I found very entertaining. We got to sit at the desks and learn how to write with a quill! Overall, I enjoyed this experience and would suggest it to anyone visiting the area.

Simply the best place to go in Stratford for Shakespeare. This is so atmospheric and the guides and staff work hard to recreate the experience of being in a classroom when Shakespeare attended. The master taking the Latin lesson was exceptionally good.
Wheelchair access to the upstairs is via a lift. Amazing that a place of this age has wheelchair access throughout. The lift can take up to 400kg but is not very large so only for wheelchairs not scooters.
The downstairs displays and short film was very good and the guide answered all our questions.
The guide in the upstairs rooms was extremely knowledgable and could answer any academic question about Shakespeare you care to ask.
The restored artwork on the timbers was also great to see.
Highly recommended.

We visited today with our children aged 9 and 11. We all had such a lovely time, the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The school lecture was great and my children loved writing with quills. We spent just over an hour here and found it to be very informative and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
