Our timing turned out perfectly!
Got to Waco & Magnolia Table about 11:00 so there was only a 45 minute wait. Weather was perfect for sitting on their patio. Pumpkin Donut Holes were a great little appetizer. Food was typical with a slight twist. Great! Next came Spice Village & it is always fun! Then to an Airbnb that was an easy drive to The Silos & everything else.
Wednesday, we started with The Castle Tour. The all-around favorite! But unfortunately the tours will be over this week. A little shopping at The Magnolia Silos & an amazing lunch at a food truck that made an Asian bowl that was FANTASTIC! The truck said it was Waco’s second best food truck & served hamburgers? No burgers but great bowls with rice or cabbage, choice of protein, choice of a variety of vegetables & an amazing choice of sauces! All for maybe $8.99!
Just enough time before the 2:00 Fixer Upper Tour, just steps from the Silos. Very entertaining Tour of all things of The Magnolia empire & Waco. A little over two hours, with stops at Joanna’s first shop, Harp Designs, The Three Little Pigs House & Airbnb, finishing with a drive through Cameron Park and a stop at Jimmy Don’s Store. He greeted everyone at the door for a handshake. Then back to The Silos to end the day with Bakery cupcakes! Oh my! All I can say is Lemon Lavender & S’More cupcakes!!! So-o-o good!
Left to drive back to The Woodlands in the AM, after a great night’s sleep at the Airbnb! We were wiped out after a phenomenal day Wednesday.
Crowds were really light for The Silos on Wednesday. My crowd was two Fixer Upper fans & one person who had never heard of them! They were really impressed! Except for the neighborhoods?!? Waco has a very varied neighborhood structure. Nice houses between two questionable houses. BUT these neighborhoods are more hospitable than they appear. We never felt unsafe anywhere!
