Travel to the past and enjoy visiting to the house museum of La Casa de Los Balcones -also known as Casa Fonseca-, built in 1632. During this visit, you will be able to discover the lifestyle, uses and customs of a canarian family who lived in this house from the 20th century. The circuit begins on the first floor, where you can look at different rooms of the house, which is home to a big collection of antique objects of the owners. Between them, there are typical canarian objects and traditional tools that currently is not easy to find them. Then, you go downstairs to know how a winery works. After that, you will be able to relax on the inner courtyard surrounded by a stunning wooden balcony made with canarian tea pine.

  • The House-Museum is opened from 10:00 am to 6:00pm. The last visit starts half an hour before the closing time.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Wheelchair is accessible only on the ground floor and the interior patio. The first floor is not accesible.
  • You will receive confirmation at the time of booking
  • Keep in mind that you must take a printed voucher or show your smartphone with the reservation to access the museum house.
  • All houses are accessible, except the second floor of La Casa de Los Balcones (in this case, people with reduced mobility can access the interior patio and the first floor).
  • Smoking is not allowed inside the houses, except on the terrace of the Gastrolercaro restaurant.
  • You have the possibility to visit all three houses with an official guide. For this, it is necessary to book in advance. Get in touch through the contact form on the official website
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Formidable, j’ai adoré ce voyage au 19 e siècle, les objets d’époque, comment cette maison a été pensé, par rapport à la chaleur, la consommation d’eau (si précieuse) Ce patio, un havre de paix végétale et de fraîcheur… On peux y apprécier le chant des serins!!!

Beautiful old house. You need to go up a small spiral staircase to get to the first floor. It is 5 euros to enter. The woodwork is stunning, each beam had been decoratively carved. There are a couple of nice photo opportunities on the balcony or through the windows. There is also a old wine press in the back of the property.

Es una casa antigua y señorial, perteneciente a una familia muy pudiente. Una de las muestras de arquitectura canaria del siglo XVII con un imponente balcón de más de 10 metros que cruza la facha de manera horizontal. La entrada cuesta 5 € y no se puede acceder a la segunda planta. En el patio y en la primera planta se puede ver las habitaciones y utensilios de una casa canaria de siglos pasados siempre desde el pasillo (primera planta) o a través de cristales. Nos pareció muy cara la entrada para lo que ves y como lo ves. La persona que atendía muy poco amable, le pregunte por las alfombras de flores y apenas me hizo caso, estaba hablando con la compañera de la tienda. Al lado está la llamada Casa del Turista donde se muestra durante todo el año un ejemplo de las famosas alfombras de La Orotava. Una pena que estuviese cerrada.
