All Inclusive 3-Day Murchison Falls National Park Safari

I visited Uganda back in April this year; due to Covid this was a holiday which had been originally booked for March 2020 but had been cancelled and rebooked several times. When I arrived I stayed at Secrets Guesthouse as I had been here previously and thoroughly enjoyed my stay and getting to know the owners Angella & Derek who were extremely hospitable and accommodating and I can highly recommend this establishment. Since my previous visit they had added a safari tour bus operation to their business Secrets Destinations Ltd; going on safari was not at all part of my plan but they 'twisted my arm' and offered me an incentive and, even though I had some trepidation given the pandemic, I went on the 3-day Murchison Falls Safari.  In a sentence it was the best tour ever. Nothing was too much trouble. My insecurities fell away as I watched the vehicle being cleaned and sanitised before use. The vehicle was fully equipped and the small group were provided with drinks from the onboard fridge, as well as WiFi (which by the way is great if you want to post your experience live on social media). We would stop for lunch at restaurants which observed the governments SOP's (standard operating procedures) for Covid. The Tour Guide was truly knowledgeable about the animals we saw and their habitat but better still she was very good at spotting animals which had cleverly hidden amongst the trees and foliage to avoid being in the spotlight. It was amazing to see animals and birds in their natural environment and in real life and not on TV, it truly can take your breath away (and for the tour duration I totally forgot about the pandemic, what pandemic?). If you get the opportunity,  please don't hesitate and get your 'arm twisted', like I did - like the Guesthouse, I can also highly recommend Secret Destinations. If there's anything this global situation has taught me it's to grab life with both hands (and feet ) and experience everything you can and you will have a once in a lifetime experience on this Safari!

Secret Destination Safari Tours helped create one of the most unforgettable experiences In my life. Having been in Dubai on business there was a recess in action and I thought I’d make good use of my time by booking an impromptu safari trip. Secrets Destinations Safari Tours looked after me from start to finish. They picked me up from the airport and I stayed at their accommodation, it’s located approximately 15-20mins drive from the airport. The standard of accommodation was to a high standard and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We set off for our Safari in the morning, driving through the wilderness definitely added to the experience of really being in Africa. The safari itself was amazing, there’s something more special seeing animals in their natural habitat. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and I was made to feel safe throughout my stay. The only downside was that I did not get to see any lions up close. Due to the short stay, there was not the opportunity to see all the animals I wanted to see however I will definitely book a longer stay next time. I would highly recommend anyone going on a safari to make sure that the vehicle they are traveling in is specifically built for safaris such as the one Secrets Safaris and Tours has. 70-80% of the cars in the safari park were quite frankly ill equipped for safaris. I actually felt sorry for some of the passengers, you can visibly see the disappointment in some people’s faces. Overall I had a great time, Uganda surpassed all my expectations and I will be definitely organising a second trip, this time without the time constraints. I would like to thank Secret Safari Tours for an unforgettable time and you will be seeing me again next year :)

The team at Secrets Destinations handled my booking effortlessly and seamlessly. My family and I truly had an unforgettable experience. I would recommend Secret Destinations to anyone that's traveling with kids as they've got a really awesome girl on the team that's incredible with kids and helped out all the way. I didn't expect any help, but another pair of hands to help especially with the toddlers was more than welcome. We all had fun and enjoyed transportation in a spacious 4x4 Land Cruiser. There's free wifi on board so that's a plus. The highlight of my Safari was visiting the top of the Falls at Murchison Falls National Park.
