Valencia Hop-On Hop-Off Tour

It is your basic Hop on Hop off experience. We did not get off anywhere, just did the whole tour in one.

First of all, we've done a few RT tours before which we usually do to get a first high level view before exploring a city in detail. So why not in Valencia as well eh? I'll tell you why... First off, finding where and how was a bit of a game of Find the needle in the hay-stack. Finally having figured out where and ho since we couldnt see a single bus touring, we went off to the stop at Plaza Toro. First ride? No show. Second ride? No show...aaah there's the third one. The bus was as good as new it seemed, nice. Having hopped on, plugged in the headsets it appeared that the volume was terribly low even when pumped up to max. The unit of my son broke down after two minutes...then mine stopped working, then the one of my daughter and some people around us etc etc...Ah well...without guide then.... The ride goes past apartment blocks, new and run down ones, closed or abandoned shops bu all sprayed with crappy graffiti, fallow lands be it with or without trash or run down houses etc etc...oh and it passes the hyper modern musem area which is actually a stunning view. Then, the bus halts right in front of the shopping center at the new part of town cause "the bus broke down"...So having to hop on another (old shabby) bus instead we had to wait for another 20 or 30 minutes cause...another bus broke down...(?) Seemed they were just merging 3 busses to one since there werent enought visitors on each bus I guess. No issue with that, but just be honest. Nearly 3 hours of seeing abolitely jack, this ride is a total waste of money. Some good advice: DO NOT take these rides in Valencia. Spent thos 3 hours walking around in the old city center and the Mercato etc. instead to actually see the city and spend the money at one of the local bars and restaurants.

I’d read the mixed reviews and didn’t think it would be that bad - but it was. No bus for 1.5 hours then staff let the orderly queue disintegrate into chaos when the bus finally did turn up. I was told the app is booked out tickets on was hopeless and I shouldn’t have used it! Believe me, wish I hadn’t for so many reasons! Commentary disappeared after 2 stops and no map was available onboard that showed the route or places interest. Valencia has much to offer but but much better ways to see it than this.
