Venice can be overwhelming with all the islands, bridges, and sketchy (at best) signage (unless you are on a major thoroughfare). This was my third trip to Venice and I was determined to see more than the usual highlights or subject myself to one of the large tours. This tour provided that opportunity. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I thought I had a good working knowledge of Venice's history, but she filled in the gaps and provided many wonderful insights into not only the history, but how people lived in Venice in the past and present. My favorite part was the information on Venice's architecture, to the point where I could look at a building and make an intelligent guess on it's age and the age of any "improvements" (not unusual to have a 14th-century building with another story added in the 1600s). Also, our guide was very patient as both my sister and I use canes and Venice is a real challenge for someone mildly disabled. Our tour of Venice was one of the highlights of our 3-week trip!
