What is the difference between a Prosecco Brut and a Prosecco Dry? Between a Valdobbiadene and a Cartizze? What grapes are used to make this exceptional sparkling wine? Where and why was the IBA “Spritz” cocktail born? What is a Cicchetto? At the end of this experience you will be able to answer these and other questions about Italian food and drink. Enjoy a walk through the typical Venetian streets together with a local Somelier, taste prosecco or local wine, discover the most Venetian cocktail there is, the Spritz and taste cicchettis, classic Venetian street food. In about 2 hours you will learn new notions about the history of the city, its food and how to taste wine like a pro.

    We will begin our tour among the majestic columns of St. Mark's Square, under the doge's balcony, among the oldest cafes in Europe and the rocking of gondolas. Head to the most authentic bacaro in Venice, run by the fifth generation of this family, an institution for Venetians and tourists alike. Here we will taste classic Venetian cicchetti accompanied with a good Aperol or Select spritz.

    Next we will wander through the calli and bridges, heading to the least touristy area of the city, Castello.
  • Chiesa di San Giorgio dei Greci, Venice, Italy
    An area still inhabited by Venetians where everyone greets each other by name. We will taste like true sommeliers a bottle of local wine paired with a board of sliced meats, in the shadow of the most important Orthodox church in Italy.

  • Cuore di Mattoni del Sottoportego dei Preti, Venice, Italy
    We will continue the tour walking in the first paved street in Venice, in fact called strada and not calle and stop in the oldest pastry shop in the city just for a cookie, the classic "Buraneo,"

    Last stop, a glass of dry prosecco, to end on a sweet note with a view of the lagoon and St. Mark's basin

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Esperienza oltre le aspettative. Angela è un'ottima guida, un'esperta preparatissima sui vini e una persona piacevole e alla mano. Cercavamo proprio un momento per vivere Venezia da un punto di vista interno, ci siamo dimenticati per due ore di essere turisti. Consiglio vivamente!

Quand on se laisse emmener dans les rues avec notre guide Angela on traverse la vie de la ville, celle des habitants de Venise. Angela est si naturelle et généreuse dans les histoires qu'elle nous a confié sur son métier, et des petites anecdotes sur la grande Histoire de cette ville. Vous pouvez la suivre les yeux fermés (mais gardez vos yeux ouverts quand-même, ça vaut le coup !)
