You will be given a visitor guide and map, as you explore around the prison use the sound boxes to learn the facts and history of the prison. Great day out for all the family inc small children. Staff very friendly and informative. The children enjoyed the little time out games around the prison. The day was both fun and interesting and hopefully I scared the kids straight!

Well worth a visit. What an eerie experience! Myself, my 7 year old and my 4 year old had a self-guided tour throughout the prison. I'm baffled by the 1 star reviews saying it isn't appropriate for children. You're literally in a prison. What did you expect? Anyway, my kids found it fascinating, including the diseases, the excecution room and the haunted cell. Lots of information about the history and the day to day lives of prisoners. The staff were all very friendly and the cafe was fine (if a little pricey). We had a great day and I'd go back in a heartbeat.
