We visited the village on a beautiful day, which helped, and had an excellent local guide, which also helped our experience. All of the buildings are on their original sites - this is not a village created by moving houses in from all over. Marshall Tito's home is open to the public; not all the furniture is original but one poignant detail I noticed was that the cradle, which WAS original, had many scratches on the floor from being rocked so often! (Tito had 7 siblings.)
One room shows Tito's public life including some gifts from dignitaries. His funeral included 100 heads of state. Other buildings are dedicated to crafts, blacksmithing and other specialties. There is a good variety of items for sale in the souvenir shop including T-shirts and magnets with Tito's picture as well as traditional hand-made toys.
Notice also the thatched roofs on some buildings- they need replacement only every 30 years or so.
