Want to really go inside the Culture of Rastafari? Come to the mountains only 25 minutes from Negril and let Fire lead you on a Journey back in time. First you will come to Zimbali and be greeted with a freshly made welcome Drink. Then the hike begins with a stop at "Gracie's" spring to fill your water bottles This is a moderate+ hike up into the hills is reward with breath taking mountain and ocean views. Good Shoes for walking/hiking are a must. at Fire's "Camp Survival", where he has lived and farmed for over 30 years. Learn how the Rasta live and farm. Watch as fire gathers wood and food- then cooks you a Rasta "Ital" (vegetarian) meal on the open wood fire using the ancient natural techniques of coconut and spices.     During the rode to Zimbali you will see pieces of Jamaica's history- driving through cane fields that are remnents of a bygone era.

  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

I’m very glad we did this. Very memorable and beautiful. Both the hiking guide and the Rasta gentleman couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. However I do think as a tour it was overpriced. You must pay an additional $20 for transportation and ours was NOT air conditioned, and involved a lot of driving back and forth to pick up and drop off others. There was also no bottled water offered, luckily we had some.

Best time ever on this excursion, worth every penny and then some! Thank you so much to Mark and co. For the amazing experience. We got to sample local fruits straight from the vine and learn all about the flora and fauna in the area, which was so cool. Plus the meal that we got was incredible- even my meat eating husband was super full afterwards! Everyone we encountered was genuinely so friendly and generous, we’re so grateful. It was such a magical day with such beautiful surroundings, Zimbali Retreat looks unreal too! Thanks again!!

Our Guide Cosmo was nice he was super attentive. He gave us great info on the types of fruits/plants/trees along the hike. If any of us got tired on the hike he never had a problem with stopping for rest! When we got to Zimbali it was a vibe! He was super cool and gave wise words and put lots of love in a vegan meal. my most cherished experience. would recommend!
