Nestled within the confines of the São Francisco Gothic church, the Chapel of Bones lives up to its evocative name. It's estimated that the chapel is adorned with an excess of 5,000 skulls, many of which were unearthed from various monastic graveyards in the vicinity. Evidently, the expansion of these cemeteries became a spatial concern, leading to the concept of consolidating the bones within a single consecrated space. Vale a visita se for a alguma vinicola do Alentejo. Cidade bem charmosinha, acredito que de noite deve ser bem agradavel. Tem vários locals de comprinhas e barzinhos e restaurantes.

We were on a multiple day tour of Portugal and this was my favorite city. So much history in a beautiful location. Cobblestone streets and fountains ... spectacular
