We have traveled extensively and have had lovely experiences in other countries and cities with a hop on-hop off bus service. We purchased tickets for 48 hours and rode around for approximately half of the circuit on our first ride. The audio on the bus was extremely difficult to understand and often had music playing so loudly over the speech that one couldn't hear the words being said. I ended up removing my earpieces and just enjoyed the scenery.
We got off at the number 10 stop then later attempted to get back on the "Hop On- Hop Off" number 11 stop, designated on the map (in front of the Museo Militar). Four buses drove by over the course of nearly an hour but despite waving our arms and our Hop On-Hop Off maps, not one stopped. Questioning the accuracy of the map provided, we followed the first two buses to see if they were stopping at a different location; they did not and continued to drive on. We chased the last two of the buses to a red light only to be told we couldn't get on and that they will come back around. We never tried the buses again, preferring to walk over the noisy, unintelligible, unreliable, unfriendly, poor service.
