We had a delightful evening. The food & drinks were delicious. Briana was a pleasure to be with. & a great ambassador for the city of Chattanooga. She explained the history of the downtown area as well as the relationship between the restaurants & local farmers & bakeries. This evening was a highlight of our vacation.

This Review of Downton Chattanooga Food Tour (2 adults), with Chatt Taste Food Tours, is based on our personal experience on the evening of 10/25/2024. We have no other experience with Chatt Taste Food Tours.
We scheduled the aforementioned tour directly with Chatt Tours three days prior to the tour. The food tour we paid for and received was not as advertised. Based on our experience on 10/25/24, we would not schedule another tour with Chatt Tours.
Our food tour only included stops at two restaurants, not four as advertised. At a total cost of more than $300 for two people, and considering the tour description provided by the company, along with the reason many take a food tour, this is unacceptable.
Had management shown the courtesy to make us aware of the change prior to the start of the tour, we would have chosen to use our limited time in Chattanooga, and the more than three-hundred dollars paid, in a different manner.
On the date the tour was booked, the description for this tour found on the Chatt Taste Food Tours website clearly indicates the food tour will include stops at four different restaurants-it even provides the names of the places to be visited; and, while the disclaimer indicates the "locations" may change, there is no information to suggest the number of restaurants visited my be reduced by 50%.
Food tours are one of our favorite things to do when traveling and as such, we have participated in many at different locations in the U.S., and in other countries. The tour with Chatt Tours is the first food tour where we have experienced something less than what was advertised.
The concern has nothing to do with the amount of food received. It lies in that we paid a lot of money for a FOOD TOUR that was advertised to include exposure to four different restaurants. We had no expectation as to which four we may visit, but we paid to visit four different restaurants, and only visited two.
After the tour started we learned a private event prevented us from visiting two locations that are generally visited on this tour, and that we would only be stopping at two restaurants. We later learned Chatt Taste has arrangements with more than 20 restaurants and yet when two became unavailable, the location was not changed for our tour, as described in the tour description. Further, whereas we were notified of a change of the meeting place more than 24-hours prior to the start of the tour, it would suggest management knew of the conflict at least a day prior and failed to correct the situation, or notify participants of the change.
In large part the value of a tour of this type for us is we are exposed to four or five different restaurants in a few hours; and, we learn about the restaurant itself, their menu, and have an opportunity to taste something they are known for.
The experience we received was not as described by the company or similar to what we have experienced on other food tours, it resulted in the loss of our one of only two evenings we had in Chattanooga, and a cost of more than $300 for the two of us.
