This isn't actually a wine tasting tour. The walking tour of Bucharest Old Town itself was good (2 hours) but that is pretty much where it ends. We were left alone in a restaurant where they gave us 3 of the house wines with no information about the wines whatsoever. When we asked what each was we were told "house red, white and rose" so guess we weren't going to learn anything about Romanian wine! The wines themselves were extremely poor. According to the menu, each wine was 19 RON per glass and the cheese board was 84.5 RON between two - the cheeses tasted like water. In total we spent £147 when we got £31 of wine and cheese. Frankly, this felt like a ripoff. We were very excited to learn about Romanian wine and simply did not get that.
Vlad was an excellent walking guide to the Old Town, and if that's all we'd booked we would have given him 4*. But we didn't. Best to book a walking tour that would've cost significantly less then go to Corks for nice wine.
