We had a wonderful time in Jordan and we were able to see most of the highlights with this tour. We wish that we had more time to explore while we were there!
Our driver, Omar, was exceptional. He worked extremely hard to ensure that we were well cared for, and that we were able to see as much as possible. He was a safe driver, his car was comfortable, and he was very personable. (Ask for him - you'll be happy you did!). Our tour guides at Jerash and Wadi Rum were excellent. The guides' knowledge was superior and really made these two locations come alive. The Jeep tour in Wadi Rum was a ton of fun. We laughed so hard going over the dunes and got some great pictures climbing the cliffs. We really got to see a lot of the desert!
Those excellent points aside, we did not have tour guides at any other location: Nor could a guide be found. Thankfully, we were able to ask Omar questions (he was very knowledgeable), and we were able to use our guidebook as a resource. The camping night in Wadi Rum was mediocre at best. We paid to upgrade from a tent to a bubble. We were glad we "upgraded", but this camp was NOT luxurious. The dinner and breakfast were a buffet with mediocre food, and there was no entertainment or activities after dinner. The Dead Sea day was at an aged Ramada Inn with a buffet lunch that was inedible. We would rather have paid more for a day at one of the nicer, more spa-like hotels on the Dead Sea.
Overall, our driver was a 5/5. Without him, we would have never been able to squeeze as much out of this tour as we did. The tour guides we did have were 5/5. The Jeep tour was 5/5. The overnight camping facilities and the Dead Sea day facilities were 2/5. This tour has the potential to be excellent with a few changes to choice of facilities.
