I loved my visit to this castle. It is small so it is not an exhausting experience - great for young kids!
The castle is the best preserved example of Al-Andalus castle architecture in the world. There are numerous signs with good English translations. The mannequin soldiers in period Arabic dress gave a nice sense of perspective to the castle.
My young guide conducted a good tour in Spanish. I understood the sense of all of it and the detail of most of it, but I don't think she could conduct the tour in English. That's a minor downside for me, but something other visitors should be aware of. Don't let it dissuade you from visiting Baños de la Encina, though! It's a great castle and a great visit.
