I was looking forward to this activity very much but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. We were told to arrive 30 minutes early which we did. The boat and crew didn’t arrive until 11 straight off the back of the morning group. They then did a very chaotic job of giving us the wetsuits and flippers. We didn’t leave until 11:30 an - a half hour late.
Seeing the seals and swimming right near them was very cool. We also saw a huge sting ray!
Unfortunately my snorkel gear was a bit worse for wear and the seal around my eyes was loose and kept leaking. I got back on the boat to get a replacement. The snorkel leaked and I inhaled a bunch of water. Back on the boat. My partner by that point came to find me and gave me his snorkel which worked. Then I had to swim across the strong current to get back to where I had been with the seals.
I think we were in the water for maybe 20-30 minutes half of which I was on the boat refitting the old snorkel equipment.
If you go - bring your own snorkel gear that you know fits you! Other people did and it was the right idea.
We arrived back at the pier right on 1pm. So overall it was not two hours but 1.5 hours which was very disappointing as I paid for 2.
