Our guide was friendly and had reasonable knowledge of the wine industry. The first tasting, Chateau Dauzac, was what we would expect for an established Bordeaux winery producing a range of good wines with a very impressive setup. The 2nd, AMBE Tour Pourret, tasting was of very average wines from an inexperienced host. The final one a red, became our lunch wine, no further wines served with the lunch which was an acceptable platter shared by all. A request to purchase another glass of wine to have with lunch was rejected. The third winery, Chateau Larmande featured 2 red wines which were of good Bordeaux quality presented by a knowledgeable winemaker in a impressive winery. Finally we did a walk around the old town of St Emilion definitely worth the effort walking the hill and cobblestone streets.
