Savegre Rafting

I've been rafting with a number of companies in a number of places and this crew is really professional. Romain and Josue were both excellent communicators and hit all the right safety points and knew the river like their hands. They made it more than a river trip with knowledge about local plants and spices along with an incredibly artistic lunch spread worthy of a magazine cover. We saw several other companies operating at the same time, but with outdated equipment, poor ethics and no real thought to hospitality or education. Costa Rica Explorers are the pros and make the competition look like they should work harder to keep up

Outstanding experience on and off the river! Guides Romain, Josue, and Jason were wonderful. In addition to guiding us expertly downstream, they enthusiastically shared their local knowledge of the plants and wildlife we saw along the way. The lunch they prepared for us beside a breathtaking waterfall was beautifully arranged over an upturned raft and absolutely delicious. The company’s slogan is “come as clients, leave as friends”…these three guys absolutely lived up to that promise. The joy and expertise they bring to their work is really special. The experience was a perfect blend of safety and exhilaration.

First time white water rafting and so much more…..it was a blast!! Our driver Jason expertly handled the winding terrain up the mountain and had a great sense of humor. During the ride he and our guides Romaine and Jose included nature stops, they identified various spice plants including cinnamon, vanilla, pepper, allspice mint etc… allowing us to touch, tasted, smell if we wanted. Romaine spotted a banana spider along the way and we stopped to feel the strength of their web and hold it! Ok back to rafting:). Romaine and Jose expertly guided us down the river. The rapids were amazing and we even surfed the water. We hiked to a beautiful waterfall and enjoyed swimming while our guides set up a fantastic lunch. The food was beyond tasty and the presentation (see pictures attached) was amazing! Jose took pictures through out the trip documenting all the excitement. I would highly recommend choosing this team for your rafting experience:)
