Our final excursion with Paddle 9 was a surfing session. Our multi-generational family was genuinely excited to see Corry pick us up from our vacation home base. Corry was our guide in the Manuel Antonio National Park tour and we had an excellent experience with him, so we already knew we were in good hands. 6 of our 10 family members were going surfing today; but our whole family was going to enjoy the beach! After a short drive we arrived at the beach to see our Nuayaca Falls guides DK and Alejandro waiting for us! So cool to see both of them again! Rasta was our last instructor. Alè gave us a quick on the beach tutorial and we were off! Out of the 6 surfers three were first timers (myself, my son, and his girlfriend). My sister and her two sons surfed before, but the waves were a bit bigger here.
I personally enjoyed this excursion because I was quite apprehensive about getting myself up on the board and catching a wave. DK was great at providing me instructions and I was able to get on the board and catch waves! My first surfing experience was a positive one. Thanks DK!
We had two sessions with a short break in between for pineapple and water. Some runs were great; others not so much…..nobody said it was going to be easy!
Once again the Paddle 9 team were fantastic; evidenced by the ear to ear smile across my son’s face when he completed a run all the way to the beach. Watching my son, his girlfriend and my two nephews catch waves from the beach was aweseome; and yet another way to interact with the incredible nature here in Costa Rica. PURA VIDA!
If you’re in Manuel Antonio and want to try out surfing LOOK NO FURTHER. Paddle 9 will take care of you!
