My wife and I and a friend couple went on this - supposed to be 3 hours - bike tour on the island of Rarotonga. I had been in contact with the company (Corrina) via e-mail and it worked out perfectly. As regard payment of NZD 80/person for the tour, we were supposed to bring NZD-cash with us, but we did not have any. Corrina said: "not a problem - we just make a stop at the ATM and fix it".
We came ashore and quickly found Corrina - very friendly and nice New Zealander, who gave us proper instruction on the bikes, how to bike on the island and then asked an open question: "what would you like to see and experience"? We could simply adjust the tour to our liking.
One of the many highlights on the approx. 15 kilometre tour (on good mountain bikes), was Corrina's stops alongside the road, when she saw a fruit, plant, flower etc that she would like to tell us about. And every time we got the chance to taste fruits, husk coconuts, smelling flowers and ask a lot of questions. All questions very well answered by Corrina.
At the end of the tour (at a Bounty-alike beach) we were served with a delicious picnic lunch sitting on the beach, watching the magical scenery. When lunch was over we were supposed to be taken back to the wharf, but Corrina asked if we would like to have a tour around the island and passing by her house (to off-load the bike trailer). This was obviously not included in the tour, but a really nice gesture by Corrina without extra charges. Instead of 3 hours bike tour, we ended up with a 5.5 hours bike and full island tour.
We can only recommend Storytellers Eco Cycle Tours (and especially Corrina) - it is a fantastic way of seeing the beautiful island and the tour does not require more than a normal physical condition.
