We went on the safari float and tortilla making tour with our fantastic guide Siviamy (it ended up just being the the two of us and the guide). We saw a ton of animals on the safari float on the Peñas Blanca River, thanks to Siviamy's good eye including tiger heron, blue heron, king fisher, anhinga, a cappuccino monkey going after some bananas, about 20-30 howler monkeys, toucans, 2 adult sloths and a baby sloth, cattle egrets, sand pipers, iguanas, bats, and more. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and animals we saw, and brought a telescope that he set up on the side of the river when there were animals in the trees. The trip itself is pretty relaxing, there is a small set of stairs down to the river (about 1 flight) and a similarly small set back to the car. We were happy to have water shoes, as the raft does get a little wet - and they let us leave our bag with sneakers in the car during the trip.
Afterwards we went to cocina doña mara, where we made tortillas and had a wonderful local lunch. Mara was very welcoming, and our guide did a great job of translating. Overall, highly recommend this tour. We really enjoyed this trip.
