They are the REAL deal! This is NOT a zoo, this is a rescue and where possible release sanctuary. They receive upwards of 30 animals/mammals/birds PER DAY. Many of the creatures are found, injured, abused (poor diet/living conditions) or become too much for their owners.
The compounds are filled with REAL vegetation and FRESH water. They are outside in the NATURAL environment. Their goal is to provide the best quality of life for those animals who can not safely be rehabilitated and released. For those that can, they have (3) habitats throughout the country where the animals are released and monitored.
See their children's education center, Educate our youth, volunteer, donate!
The staff and volunteers truly have the best interest of the animals at heart. They go above and beyond. Take the tour and learn all about their many accomplishments.
If you are going to spend your money at many of the "Rescue" centers in Costa Rica, spend it here! Cheers to you! I hope to be back some day to volunteer!
