Sunset - Segeltörn auf einem Jacht-Katamaran, Rethymno, Kreta

This was an absolute highlight of our family trip (4 adults) to Crete this summer! The catamaran, Karina, was fantastic-modern, really well equipped and spacious. We were fortunate enough to have a very calm evening for our cruise, although this did mean that we weren’t able to use the sails this time. What made the cruise so special was the crew, all of whom were friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone had their drinks topped up and preparing an attractive finger buffet for us to enjoy after our swim stop. They created a good vibe on board without it feeling too rowdy. Another reason why we enjoyed the cruise so much was that they did not have too many people on board (they were probably about 20 of us at most with a good mix of ages ). This meant that everyone could get a really good spot of choice on the catamaran for the journey to our swim stop and back to Rethmyno. The captain anchored us near a lovely bay for our 30 minute swim stop and the boat was well equipped with inflatables and paddle boards. All in all, this trip was excellent value for money (nearly half the price of identical trip offered by our holiday tour operator) and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Rethmyno.

Nous avions réservé une sortie en catamaran de 17h à 20h30, avec plusieurs arrêts prévus dans des criques, le tout au coucher du soleil – sur le papier, ça faisait rêver. Deux bateaux étaient au départ, nous étions sur le second. Malheureusement, la sortie a tourné court. La mer était agitée depuis le matin, mais sans être dangereuse. Pourtant, après seulement 45 minutes de navigation, une grande partie des passagers a commencé à se sentir mal et l’équipage a décidé de faire demi-tour, suivant "la majorité". Résultat : retour prématuré au port, sans avoir vu ni crique ni coucher de soleil. C’est franchement frustrant. Les vagues étaient présentes depuis le matin donc Quand on sait qu’on est sensible au mal de mer, on évite ou reporte ce genre de sorties ! Car au final ces passagers ont gâché notre expérience de fin de séjour et l’organisation n’a pu proposer d'alternative ou de solution intermédiaire. Mais le plus décevant reste la réponse à notre demande de remboursement : sur 170 € payés, seulement 43,20 € nous ont été proposés… soit même pas un tiers du prix, pour une sortie à peine entamée. C’est incompréhensible et clairement insuffisant au vu du service non rendu. Une expérience qui aurait pu être magique, mais qui laisse un goût amer. À éviter si les conditions ne sont pas parfaites – ou si vous tenez à en avoir pour votre argent.

We got a kind and energetic welcome from the staff with prosecco and bruschette. There was enough space for everyone to have some privacy. There were two changing rooms and toilets. We stopped nearby a beautiful beach for a swim. We could jump from the catamaran and use snorkeling gear, paddle boards, floaties, pool noodles etc. We got served with unlimited wine, beer and juice. They prepared a cheese platter and a mixed fruit platter. While sailing back we could watch the sunset. The crew was incredibly kind and fun. Before leaving we got served Raki and Fanta shots, depending on which one you wanted. It's definitely worth it. We'd gladly go again.
