This was a wonderful experience. Our guide Avi gave us so much information along the way.
We stopped off first at a traditional village and were introduced to some local wares before being taken on a tour and taught about history and daily life. The plants at the Garden of the Sleeping Giant were stunning. You’ll be rewarded for the hot walk up the hill by the view back across Fiji, including the bright blue ocean dotted with islands. And the cold fruit drink refreshment is like liquid gold.
When we made it to the mud pools we were paired with a beautiful guide who explained the significance of the place as the locals’ hospital, how it featured in WW2, and the incredible benefits of the minerals. The on-site massages were the icing on the cake. Prepare to feel insanely relaxed.
Tip: both the massage and trinkets on-site at the mud pools are very well priced.
We were even taken past some cheap and tasty local fish and chips on the way home.
