The tour was more than worth it. We had Captain Shay and LJ, who were amazing at everything they did. Be on time, they leave on time. We had people on the tour from 6-75 years old, and everyone loved it. If you haven’t been to Exuma, get ready to get blown away. The waters are literally the clearest bluest waters on the planet (no exaggeration). Here’s a little more detail about our all day trip:
We were the last ones to get there and yet we had great seats on the boat. We departed at 8:30.am They gave us a safety brief and offered us drinks and snacks, as much or as little as you’d like.
We arrived at our first stop in about 1hr. It went by fast as it’s beautiful and the crew put on great music that was upbeat and enhanced the ride.
First stop was the iguanas, which was my daughter’s favorite. We spent about 15 minutes there feeding them and learning a bit about them.
Next, we took about a 30 minute ride and learned about the different islands while we made our way to swim with the Nurse Sharks. That stop took about 30 minutes and was my son’s favorite part.
We continued on for a short time, learning more about the islands while heading to see the pigs. That was a great experience as well, but know that the pigs can be aggressive and bite, but you’re fine as long as you do exactly as the crew tells you. Still a great stop though.
We then hit the lunch spot on Staniel Cay which had a really nice island vibe. The food was really good, and with the exception of a few items, everything was included in the price of the tour. This was really nice because we didn’t feel rushed at all and left when everyone was finally ready.
We took another short ride to Pablo’s Plane, where we got some great history lessons on that and the surrounding islands. We then went around the corner to one of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever seen in my life (all the others being in Exuma lol), to swim, take pictures and relax for about 30 minutes. Sadly, that was our last stop. I don’t think they could’ve planned the stops any better. After our last stop, it felt like like a shorter ride back, and probably took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get back to Nassau. My kids say it’s the best trip they’ve ever had and for me, it definitely ranks up there as well. My mother, who is 75, also thought this trip, thanks to Captain Shay and LJ, was one of the best day trips she’d ever had as well. I can’t say enough, but I’ll put it this way, it is well worth the money and should be atop of anyone’s “best trips ever” list….
Thanks LJ and Shay!!!
