This tour was successful primarily because the other travelers rallied together to assist in logistics. I feel like Fredricka was set up for failure by the tour operator. This tour required logistically challenging schedules . The first stop is a prime example of this. It would have been a huge improvement to have had a handout marked with each of the locations with estimated times and maps for coordination purposes. In addition the group was too large for one to two people to handle. It should have been broken down into smaller increments. The tour operator should recognize that some travelers may have not experienced train travel etiquette before. In addition, calling a number for assistance is not the best method when many travelers are not comfortable calling in a different country using country codes. We were very disappointed that we were unable to travel on the ferry due to weather and yet there were several ferries running. With all that said we were still asked for an additional $40 to our original bill for the tour. We can see that there has been an increase but definitely not $20 a person!!! Last but not least we all had to walk over a mile to catch the bus to go home. So many people were complaining about this. We all felt like we had walked half way back to Florence!! All in all we loved where we visited but we would never use this company again.
