Absolutely fabulous day at Castello del Trebbio exploring their grounds, winery, and attending a cooking class with our 8-year old child. The castle and scenery surrounding the area was beautiful. It was far enough away from the closest small town to keep the mass tourist scene away, but it was close enough to easily access if you are touring the area with a rental car. The highlight by far was the cooking class led by Chef Jerry. He spoke excellent English for our group of six. All ingredients were laid out and organized, and we took turns assisting him in preparing first our dessert (cake) followed by rolled rosemary and prosciutto chicken breasts, vegetables, a vegetable sauce, and finally pasta. The chef stepped in as needed to assist in the preparation, especially when rolling out our pasta dough. The two hour process kept our kid’s attention; he was never bored. The pacing of the cooking was perfect, so that once we had finished and washed up, we only had a few minutes before everything was served. Our guide paired the estate’s fabulous wine with our meal. This is a five-star experience in Tuscany and excellent for grade school children.
