This was our second stop on our tour of the Basque Country. Having used Histerra and Léa Cabaret for our time in Biarritz and being very impressed, we decided we would use this company and Léa again for St Jean de Luz. As before, we were not disappointed. This seaside town, that sits around a bay, reminded me of the little coastal towns in the west of England. It has the grandeur and liveliness of a timeless beauty. Its history is rich in content, not least for having been the marriage place of Louis XIVth, the Sun King, its whaling and Corsair past and being the birth place of the famous French macaroons. Léa made our visit to this fascinating and beautiful town a delight, despite the weather! We would highly recommend this town and of course, Léa and Histerra who helped us understand why the Basque Country is so unique and mesmerising.
