We were once again greeted by our driver Joesif first thing in the morning and made our way to Oslob to see the whale sharks. Once we arrived we were greeted by our lovely tour guide Galiza who took us for a tasty Filipino breakfast.
From there we went right to the whale shark observation area, were briefed on the do’s and don’ts and given our gear. We rented fins for 100 PHP each, but they aren’t necessary unless you plan on free diving. Be sure to get a mask and snorkel or bring your own. Bring your GoPRO as well.
The experience of being up close with the gentle giants was awesome. They are simply beautiful to behold.
Our only complaint is that the boats are too close together and the area is very crowded for both the tourists and (most importantly) the whale sharks. It’s a huge ocean and a bit more spacing would have made a huge difference.
