What a surprise! Gibraltar was our first port on a seven day cruise, and was not anticipated to be a highlight by anyone in my group of six. How wrong we were and it had everything to do with our guide, Tommy. A native of Gibraltar, he brought the land and it’s history to life with his knowledge and his passion. Our group consisted of my husband, myself, our 2 sons (15 and 13), and my parents (in their late 70s). Mobility is an issue for both of my parents and Tommy bent over backwards to ensure they experienced as much as possible, giving suggestions at each stop and altering where possible to make it easier for them. I suffer from motion sickness, so he had me sit up front with him and consistently checked in on me. He kept BOTH of my teenagers interested and engaged and my youngest kept saying “He’s so nice!” Our diverse group was a challenge, and he handled it with ease. Tommy turned our time in Gibraltar in to the favorite stop of our whole cruise. His communication prior to the day of the excursion was excellent. He recommended our start time to ensure we were ahead of the crush of tours leaving from the ship and kept us ahead of the bubble all day. A masterful combination of planning and flexibility. He even offered to give us a shorter, less expensive tour when one of the attractions was closed for refurbishment. We opted to keep it the same and spend more time at other attractions - and are so thankful we did! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!
