Bootstour zum Vulkan Santorini und zu den heißen Quellen

We had several issues with our trip. FYI, Google Maps will not even get you close to the port, the meeting place is "Old Harbor". In English, Port & Harbor are synonymous, but apparently not in Santorini - we had a hard time finding where to go (Not the tour guide's fault per se, but more info would've been helpful) When we got to the port I went right up to the boat and showed him my confirmation. He said it wasn't his ticket and to go into the booth. I went into the booth and they handed me another paper and sent me back to the same boat again. We were the last to get on and some other guests had their bags on the benches so there was no place for us to sit. I wanted to go swimming in the volcanic water, but there is no place to store your things, so unless you take everything with you, someone could take your things. The people that did go swimming said it wasn't really much warmer than the ocean so I guess I didn't miss much. I found myself looking longingly at the catamaran boats nearby, but they are quite expensive. This boat was the equivalent of a school bus on the water - quite crowded. But it's cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

To visit a beautiful greek island and such a huge volcano (considering the Santorin archipelago size) at the same time is clearly a chance. We walked up (easy walk...) to the little crater where we noticed some sulfur smell and some warm rocks... not a fake volcano at all. The Dakoutros guide explained us many interesting things, in english but also in french, thanks to him ;). The wooden boat (Poseidon) was great, not overcrowded, and the ride was quite short. The sea is flat during the whole trip so you feel safe and comfortable... Then I clearly recommend this trip with Dakoutros travel... Visiter une superbe île grecque et un volcan aussi gigantesque (si on prend en compte la surface total de l'archipel de Santorin) en même temps est une vraie opportunité. On a marché (facile!) vers le petit cratère et ses odeurs de soufre / ses pierres chauffées à 80/100 degrés... oui c'est bien un vrai volcan! Le guide de l'agence nous a expliqué plein de choses intéressantes, en anglais, mais aussi en français, merci à lui! Le bateau en bois (Poseidon) est très classe, pas du tout surpeuplé et la navigation est courte. La mer est calme tout le temps, on se sent donc en sécurité et à l'aise. Donc je recommande clairement ces 3 heures avec Dakoutros travel!

The correspondence that follows was sent to the Company. Unfortunately they didn’t have the decency to acknowledge it, let alone offer an apology. We were advised that the trip included a transfer from Imerovigli at 09.35 / 09:40. We therefore dutifully waited at the scheduled time, in fact arriving at around 09:20. There we waited, getting increasingly more anxious as the time went by, watching various vehicles arrive and depart. There was no communication and we feared we had missed the bus. I therefore rang the office before 10 and initially couldn’t get through. Later I spoke to an employee at around 10 am and was told the bus was delayed due to traffic and would arrive in 5 minutes… I rang again before 10:30 as the bus had still not arrived and was told that the bus would arrive in around 10 minutes. The minibus finally arrived just before 10:50. This is unacceptable given the transport arrived over 1 hour and a quarter late. This was worsened by the fact that we were waiting in the heat of the day. A Spanish couple who we met when we finally got on the minibus were likewise exasperated having waited for a similar amount of time. The minibus itself was dirty with broken seatbelts as photographed (Photos attached). The issue appears to be due to the tour being oversubscribed as the boat was crammed with people, jostling for seats.
