Parts of the tour were excellent, but there could be improvements.
We booked via email and told to pay cash on the bus, and we’d be collected from our hotel. We visited the office the evening before to check the tour was still on and to pay, and they said yes and to pay on the day.
An English lady “greeted” us on the bus and told us to get off and get a voucher and that we needed to go to the office to pay. I told her what information we had and she ignored us. I went to the office and was made to wait whilst a voucher was printed (which was never checked). This held up the bus and was quite embarrassing!
The Mamma Mia sites such as a chapel and beach were stunning and we really enjoyed our time there.
Our driver was fabulous and our guide Nick was great - aside from hyping up the “Mouria Fish Tavern Agnontas” restaurant we were taken to.
Food was average at best and very overpriced. Sold in as somewhere Pierce Brosnan visits and Jamie Oliver rates the lobster pasta - it was quite bland.
Stale bread given without being asked, and not even any oil to dip.
Service was awful, waitress regularly ignored us and even our request for the bill. I guess they didn’t feel the need to try given Dolphin regularly take bus loads of people. The waiter asked if we wanted to tip, we politely declined and he asked again and again until we agreed before taking our payment. Extremely pushy and not deserved at all. I’ve never had a restaurant request us to tip, as we do anyway if we feel it’s fair!
I’d rate this the poorest meal and experience we had on the island. Only plus was the good view.
Do yourself a favour and save €60 on lunch and choose your own place to dine (there are other places on this beach front).
Overall the natural beauty spots we were taken to were fab but the organisation and experience of the meal were disappointing.
