Wein und Mittagessen Escape

This was our third year taking our team on a tour with Grape Escapes, and it is always one of the highlights of the year! The team is incredible! Our team can't stop talking about how much fun we had, and we already can't wait to do it again. From Susan who helped us organize the day, to JD who kept the vibes high driving us around and making sure we were safe ...10+/10 experience.

JD was a great tour guide. I learned alot. The wine, food and company was wonderful. I was also happy to be able to get wine shipped home.

The booking process was a bit wonky for me as a note was put in for the incorrect pick up place (Wolfville instead of Halifax), so it messed up the itinerary that I was under the impression we were following. However, this situation was handled fairly well by tour director, Susan, and we were still able to go to our intially booked wineries (just in a different order as Luckett's was already booked up for the inital time). In the end, it worked out a bit better for our group that Luckett's was first as majority of the group hadn't eaten prior to the tour. Lunch was very good - grilled cheese and chicken sandwiches. The vineyard was stunning as well. We followed up with Benjamin Bridge and Grand Pre. Both lovely wineries as well, with kind and welcoming staff members. Only thing, I wish we had a bit more time to tour around these two properties - we only had about 10-15 minutes after each tasting so I felt a bit rushed, and was kind of bummed that I wasn't really able to go out and look at the vineyards. We only really had time to take a few photos and browse the shops. Tour guide: Paul was punctual, and really sweet. Made good small talk, and was pretty informative with everything he shared about the different areas we passed through to get to the valley, as well as some history on the wineries and their grapes and vineyards. He gave us little chocolates at Luckett's (shaped like phone booths, how cute!), and picked up grapes to try at Benjamin Bridge. He also took us to see a few look offs with views of the bay and Grand Pre. He kept us on time with gentle reminders, and made this wine tour a nice experience. Thanks a lot Paul! Wines: Luckett's Phone Box White was definitely a favourite in our group, as was Benjamin Bridge's Tidal Bay. At Grand Pre, I'd probably say their dessert wine taster was the favourite - Apple Cream Liquor. Communication: They're very good and quick at responding if you prefer to communicate via email rather than phone calls (like myself). I always had a response within a couple hours to two days max (which for a company so busy, I think is relatively good). It was also really simple to change the amount of people attending the tour. The only hiccup I had here was with my reservation getting a bit messed up. I would recommned calling if you're more comfortable with that, as it definitely would've been a much faster process than email tag. Overall: Good company to book with - knowledgeable, friendly tour guides. Everyone had a fun time, and we had a great day for it.
