We found Prakash through his positive reviews on Trip Advisor and contacted him via WhatsApp (his number was in his replies to TA reviews). He was very responsive and enthusiastic during the planning process, and his prices were quite reasonable, so we booked our tour with him. I’m so happy that we did as we thoroughly enjoyed it! Varanasi was the last stop on our trip and we (my husband and I) showed up exhausted. Prakash was very flexible and adjusted our tour itinerary so that we could get the most out of our visit but also get some much-needed rest. We spent one day touring the north section and a second day touring the south plus attending the evening Ganga Aarti. Prakash is extremely passionate and knowledgeable, providing detailed explanations of the areas we visited including their history and cultural significance. He gave a fascinating overview of the cremation ghat including the detailed ceremonial process and its religious importance. This was our third trip to India and Prakash was able to give us a better overall understanding of Hinduism than we’ve achieved in the past. We appreciate that we got to tour Varanasi on foot, by boat and by auto-rickshaw as each is its own unique experience. Our tour also included stops for some yummy Lassi and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. The restaurant he chose was especially appreciated not only because of the excellent food but also for its quiet, air-conditioned environment - - a welcome break from the afternoon heat and chaotic streets. Prakash has lived an interesting life and shared some great stories with us. He knows so many people in town and has “connections” that enable him to secure the best services/experiences for his guests – including amazingly close seats for the Ganga Aarti. He also has a great sense of humor and is very down to earth. I’ve seen other reviews mention it’s like having a friend show you around town and I would agree with that. He even helped us score some diet coke to take back to our hotel :-) We would not hesitate to recommend Prakash to anyone looking for a customized, authentic, highly informative tour of Varanasi!!

We booked a very last minute Varanasi tour with Prakesh and we're very glad we did as we couldn't have navigated the busy city without him! His vast knowledge of the area really improved our trip, it would have been a shame to wonder around on our own without knowing the meaning behind significant landmarks, it was much more meaningful knowing what we were looking at. He recommended a great restaurant for lunch and was very accomodating of anything we asked for. I'd have absolutely no problems recommending this tour to anyone visiting Varanasi, you won't regret it and your trip will be much more enjoyable!

Great experience with Prakash. We were the first time in India and the first time in Varanasi. And of course we were a little bit confused of this street bustle. Prakash took us through the all hidden streets of this city. Showed us the Ghats. Told us all general stories about traditions and history of this place. Strongly recommend this guy.
