Himalaya-Motorrad-Eskapaden

It was a fantastic tour and the tour company helped me in getting one of the bucketlist items ticked. The tour company arranged the local immersive experience to the extent that we did some events which were not in the itinerary. The stays were all arranged in good 3 star hotels and we got a very experienced guide and an awesome ride captain who took us through the winding roads of Bhutan. We stayed for 1 night in the border town Pheuntsholing and completed the motorcycle paperwork. Ride to Paro saw us facing cool weather, foggy roads and waterfalls enroute. We stayed for 2 days at Paro. On the day we visited the famous Tiger monastery, our guide graciously arranged a stone steam bath which relaxed our aching bodies. We visited the Chelela pass the next day and hit the road to Thimpu. We did so.e.sigjtnseeing around Thimpu which included the Budha statue and a visit to simply Bhutan to immerse in local culture. We reached Phunaka in evening after a brief stop at Dochula pass. We couldn't visit the famed Phunaka Zonk because of the.delays we faced earlier in the tour because of a mechanical delay first and then administrative procedures later on the first day which resulted us arriving late into Paro on day2. I would strongly suggest the company to have an additional day at Phunaka so that the riders can experience the Zonk and have an optional extended ride to Phobjika, which is called the Switzerland of Bhutan; for this I have taken 1 star away. Plus the accommodation at Phunaka could have been much better.

Just back in the UK after a fantastic tour in Nepal. Starting from Kathmandu, we visited Chitwan, and saw the rhinos, Lumbini, Pokhara, Muktinath, Tatopani before returning to Kathmandu. The RE Himalayans were brilliant for the roads, or dusty, stony tracks which the roads turned into in the hills! Each day was a new experience, both on and off the bikes. The off road parts of the tour were brilliant, picking our way through the rocks or disappearing into clouds of dust; with views of the Annapurna mountains at each turn. When we reached the higher altitudes, temperatures dropped and the bike seats had to be defrosted with warm water one morning! The accommodation and food throughout the trip was good, the hotels in the Mustang valley were a little more spartan, but this is to be expected and not a problem. Deepak led us well, Kaku drove the backup vehicle with skill (just as well, it contained our wives!) and Alun made sure the bikes were clean and prepared for the start of every day. A great team. This was a truly memorable experience which I will cherish forever. One extra little experience was riding the bike over the Kushma suspension bridge - 340m long, I think my knees are still shaking, but we did it! Fantastic!

A 13 day trip with my husband riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan. This trip combined the wonderful sightseeing of Nepal with some varied motorcycle riding. The roads vary from well surfaced, to part surfaced, single carriageway, very busy, off road, virtually no road- a great variety! The partners travel in an AC minibus with a great driver, thank you Kaku, and the mechanic. Great accomodation, again varied, depending on the area. A brief trip resume- sightseeing in Kathmandu, safari in Chitwan, Lumbini to see the birthplace of Buddha, Pokhara, up the Lower Mustang valley to Marpha and Muktinath, return via a stop at Sarangkot to Kathmandu. A wonderful trip, very well organised. As well as motorcyclists this trip works very well for couples whose husband wants to ride, and the partner wants to accompany to see the country.
