An excellent tour, would highly recommend. A great blend of myth and history brought together by a knowledgeable tour guide who made the gods and goddesses, monsters and magic come to life! Also a great way to orient in the fantastic Old Town of Corfu. A really wonderful way to spend the evening, lots of atmosphere as the sun goes down.

We were absolutely blown away by the “Dark Myths and Legends” walking tour in Corfu Town by Corfu Perspectives, led by the extraordinary Efi. With her encyclopaedic knowledge, magnetic storytelling and her secret book of visuals, Efi not only brought gods, demons, saints, pirates and plagues to life — she also helped us find our bearings in this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage city.
We explored places like Town Hall Square, the lush Boschetto gardens, grand Spianada Square, the sacred Church of Saint Spyridon, and the Campiello district — just steps from the crowds but frozen in another century. We looked at the old buildings in the town, were introduced to the layers of Venetian, Byzantine, English and French influences, the saints and stories, the nobility, dungeons, nymphs, gods, goddesses, plagues, pirates and extraordinary myths that Efi sees as all intrinsically linked in a chain.
This tour made us feel like we were walking through a Goya lithograph, layered with the clarity of archaeological sketches and the energy of oral tradition. Myth and history blurred in the most magical way.
We were also able to integrate a much deeper understanding of the seven islands of the Ionian Sea. This tour epitomises the power and value of oral storytelling and knowledge sharing. Efi was absolutely BRILLIANT, engaging, and our small group could not get enough of her beautifully articulated, balanced tour. We even rescued a heat-stroked swallow in an alley, learning how locals rescue the swallows from the cats as they lie trying to get their strength back and launch them back into the sky where they belong. My husband was able to pick up an exhausted swallow and we all saw it fly back into the sunset. It was an absolute highlight of my 40 years of world travel. People like Efi are UNESCO world heritage treasures too.
Thank you.
