The downtown Canopy in the Old Strip has been a big attraction to tourists from all over the world. We booked the 4 Queens Hotel hoping to have a good place to stay and party with all the nostalgia and memories of the of Old Strip in downtown Las Vegas. My friends and I liked all the music and movies with the brat pack ( Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.). We enjoyed their music, and movies back in the 50's. 60's. 70's and right up to the changes of the present days in 2024. We however, didn't see much of the old days and definitely their wasn't any glamour. The 4 Queens Hotel was dirty, dusty and the smell in the hallway was so bad we had to hold our breath when we walked to our room on the 5th floor of Tower 2 (the newest tower). The front desk and registration at the 4 Queens Hotel would not assign us a room number until we arrived at the hotel on Feb 25, 2024. I thought it was odd since they took my money when I had booked the room 3 weeks ahead of time. The manager of 4 Queens Hotel registration was named Claudia. It was a cat and mouse chase to find out if I had a registration booked or not. I phoned the number of customer service for Agoda customer service ( 1 - 702-385-4011), but I kept getting the front desk of the 4 Queens Hotel's front desk who could check to see if I have booked a registration. They could never find my booking confirmation number at the front desk, they had to ask their supervisor and the supervisor connected me with Claudia, who found my reservation on her screen. Claudia wouldn't give me a room until I phone her on the 24th of February. I phoned on the morning of the 24th of February and Melissa answered at the front desk and I explained my complicated situation with Claudia and the process I had to get a confirmed room. Melissa talk to her supervisor and they got me a room for $20 more each day. It was my friend's special 75th birthday surprise to have a trip to Las Vegas, something she always wanted when we saw anything about Las Vegas, Nevada. Melissa said, yes we have a room for you in Tower 2 with 2 Queen beds facing the Las Vegas Blvd with a view since I agreed to pay the $20 each day to get that confirmation, but again we couldn't get a room number, I had to phone Claudia to get that when she comes into work at 3 PM, Las Vegas time. I phoned Claudia and told her that Melissa had promised me a room with a view of the Las Vegas strip for $20 more each day, so could I get my room number. Claudia was glad that I got a room but she said, she cannot give me room number because the room needs to be cleaned that day I arrive so when I come into 4 Queens Hotel to get the room at the hotel on Feb 25th at 4 PM, I will be given the room number. I hated this arrangement but I still did what Claudia told me to do because she was the only person who could give me an answer, Even though it wasn't the answer I wanted, it seemed like I was making progress in finally getting a room. I told Claudia, I better have a room when I arrive and she assured me there will be a room. Well, when we arrived I was caught in traffic and I was going to be late, so I called the front desk and told them what was happening, the front desk woman told me they only have 2 rooms left, a 2 queen bed room and the handicap room. I said I had booked a 2 queen bed with a Las Vegas Blvd view, is that the room that she has, she sounded very fluster and she repeated she has a 2 queen bed room and a handicap room.
