Tagesausflug nach Canterbury und Dover ab London

The tour guide was extremely effective. She was highly enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and seemed very determined that the tour members would have a great experience. It was a very good mix of the guide’s explanations and time for open exploration by tour members. It was a very foggy day, but our guide was determined that we would still get a good view of the white cliffs of Dover. She kept finding different vantage points until finally she found a perfect view. That’s resilience and determination!

Bus was very smelly with foul odour n driver was not alert at all times. Came up to queued traffic very fast n had to brake hard. Day completely whited out with fog n rain. Company could offer another tour at a reduced rate when bus not full. Sophie our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Our guide, Sophie was very sweet, knowledgeable and friendly. We did the tour on a foggy day and she was able to get us to a spot where we could still see the white cliffs of Dover in spite of the heavy fog. She gave us enough time to explore in Dover Castle and for those of us who wanted to do the tunnel tours, she guided us there first. Dover castle is very large and includes many neat things to see on the grounds. It was very fascinating. It is very old and has a lot of medieval artifacts (not all necessarily original, but they do try to make it look like it did hundreds of years ago), and there are staff there who can show you some of the interesting aspects of the rooms, so while the castle itself is not a guided tour, you’re free to walk around and explore and ask questions. The order of our particular tour was: Dover Castle, the cliffs of Dover, and then Caturbury cathedral and time to explore the town of Canturbury. The town of Canturbury was a fun place, and we divided our time between the cathedral and the town. The cathedral was very historic and fascinating. Many important people buried there dating back to around 1070. King James bible and other interesting artifacts are displayed in the crypt area. Each stop on this tour has toilets and food options, so no need to pack food unless you want. They ask you to be respectful to other passengers and not bring hot food aboard (due to the smell), but we ate at stops along the way. The most food options are in Canturbury, but we tried some pasties at the cafe at the cliffs as well. Our bus did get a little hot on the way to Dover, so if that happens to you, just don’t be shy—give them a shout. I think no one on our bus was bold enough to say anything until we stopped, but once we told her and the bus driver, they were very accommodating and turned on more a/c. Overall I highly recommend this tour! A beautiful day outside the city!!!! Wonderful guide and amazing history!!!!
