Martin is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about Glasgow. It was a wonderful way to tour the city and hear how history and social movements created the city Glasgow is today!
To start with, you should know that the bikes used for the tours, are refurbished postal bikes which is quite unique. I loved how they were each named after influential women in Glasgow’s history.
Martin accommodated me for a private tour as my time in Glasgow was as limited. Some of the places we visited included the Necropolis, Glasgow Cathedral, George Square, Nelson Mandela Place, Kelvingrove Museum, Transport Museum, Tall Ship, Kelvingrove Park and Clydeside Distillery, Tennant’s Beer Distillery AND, my favorite, the University and the surrounding park.
Afterwords, he recommended a pub called The Locale and I had great snack and a couple pints of beer while I read my book in their outdoor area in the back. They were kind enough to charge my phone for me as I had forgotten my cord.
