Luxor-Tagestour ab Luxor

My guide, Monsoor, was excellent. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend him highly. The sites were fantastic, the food was excellent, and the flights were great although we finished the tour around 1500 hrs. and there were no earlier flights than the one at 20:45 hours. My suggestion would be to perhaps encourage folks to stay the night at Luxor, rest in the afternoon, and go out for a good dinner at night with a flight out the following morning. My tip would be to negotiate all payments upfront. As an American I don't believe that my duty is to tip to make up for low pay nor provide "charity"; a tip is for exceptional service. I say this because I used Google to determine the tip. My Arabic is poor, but it was clear from the conversation in the car that the driver especially was not happy with his tip. Also, you need to be aware that there will be a driver; I thought just the guide so this means you will need to pay two tips. The other issue was the "add ons". They were fine for the most part, but I would suggest discussing all of the "add ons" up front, paying everything up front, and then you won't have to worry about it the rest of the trip; in short, amazing trip but the constant up selling got old.

Nous sommes restées 2 jours sur Louxor et avec nuit dans un superbe hôtel près du Nil à 20 min à pied du temple de Louxor. A notre arrivée en début d’après-midi Huda nous a appelé et nous a proposé de commencer la visite par le temple de Louxor en fin d’après-midi, au coucher du soleil. Huda est très prévenante et parle très bien français. Elle vous explique les activités prévues et les ajouts possibles pour vous permettre de bien appréhender votre journée. Le temple dans la lumière du crépuscule était éblouissant, Huda rend son récit très vivant. Elle a cette faculté de vous donner pas mal d’informations et de pans d’histoire sans que vous n’ayez l’impression d’être en conférence et d’y ressortir groggy. L’allée des Sphinx est elle est aussi impressionnante et si vous le souhaitez avec le billet d’entrée du temple vous pouvez marcher les 3km jusqu’à Karnak. Le lendemain nous sommes partis à 8h pour la Vallée des Rois. 3 tombeaux sont compris dans votre forfait et vous pouvez y ajouter 3 autres. Les fresques y sont très bien conservées et avec toutes leurs couleurs. Ensuite nous avons pu visiter le temple reconstitué d’Hatshipsuit, seule reine a avoir eu son tombeau dans la vallée des rois. Nous avons terminé par Karnak. Je ne peux que recommander cette excursion et surtout notre guide Huda !
